The Mayor and Councillors of the City of Georgetown have expressed similar sentiments. In addition to being traffic hazards, vulnerable persons are often used to take away garbage from vendors and businesses which is then dumped in empty lots creating illegal dumpsites.
Mayor Narine has stressed that greater efforts should be placed especially by the Ministry of Human Services to effectively manage the situation.
