Working for M&CC
Recruitment process for the M & CC is handled by the Personnel and HR section. If a vacancy is created in a department, it sends in a recruitment request to the personnel and HR section.
The personnel section needs to get the position approved by Finance Committee. This is followed by advertisement in the media about the vacancy and its description on the role, requirement, skills and position.
Candidates are shortlisted for interview based on the identified criteria. Vacancy can be of two types:
- Casual Worker
- Fixed Establishment (Some of the Fixed Establishment positions require ministry
approval)
Bases on type of vacancy, it goes to different levels of approval. Casual Worker candidates are interviewed by the Personnel section and the Town Clerk. Fixed Establishment candidates are interviewed by the City Council. Certain Fixed Establishment positions need Ministry approval also.
Appointment letter is prepared by Personnel section after discussing the salary and compensation with Treasury Department. This entire cycle is managed by Personnel and HR section.
