Town Clerk

The responsibilities vested in the executive arm of M&CC rest with the Town Clerk and are discharged through a structure of officials organized into departments. The authority required to discharge the mandated responsibilities are delegated to the departments, which are further divided into section. The Town Clerk is the administrative head of the Mayor & City Council and ultimately responsible for the following:
- To act as the nodal agency for executing all of Council’s policy decisions
- To ensure smooth liaison between the political and the executive arms of Mayor & City Council
- Be the custodian of all statutory records required to be maintained by the Mayor & City Council
- To implement and enable fair and compliant procedures for functioning of various departments
- To ensure effective communication of Mayor & City Council programs and with internal and external stakeholders
Requirements for a Town Clerk Certificate
- A written application addressed to the Town Clerk (outlining your request)
- Certified copy of Transport or Lease (999 years)
- Proof of Identity (valid passport or identification card)
- Updated original Valuation for Rating Purposes obtained from the Valuation Office, Camp Street bearing the Chief Valuation Officer’s signature
- A current General Rates receipt paid in full.
- A copy of a Surveyor Plan registered with the Lands and Survey Department
- Processing fee of fifty-five thousand dollars ($55,000.00)

Requirements for No Objection – Mining
- A written application addressed to the Town Clerk (outlining your request)
- Approval from Landlord/Landlady, applicable for Tenants
- A copy of the Rental Agreement
- Certified copy of Transport or Lease (999 years)
- Proof of Identity (valid passport or identification card)
- Updated original Valuation for Rating Purposes obtained from the Valuation Office, Camp Street bearing the Chief Valuation Officer’s signature
- A current General Rates receipt paid in full.
- A copy of an Approved Building Plan
- Processing fee of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00)
