Mayor Narine meets US Ambassador Sarah-Ann Lynch

His Worship Pt Ubraj Narine continued his engagements with the diplomatic community and met with the United States Ambassador to Guyana Ambassador Sarah-Ann Lynch.

The Mayor expressed that the M&CC can benefit from training and capacity building opportunities. He stated that as Georgetown undergoes the transformation with the advent of the oil & gas economy much work is needed to ensure that this transition is done in a sustainable manner.

He highlighted the areas of urban planning and security as key sectors for improvement. Ambassador Lynch and Mayor Narine also discussed the challenges faced by Climate Change and the need for resilient infrastructure and planning.

The Mayor and the Ambassador share a cordial relationship and expressed their intention to continue to work together for mutual benefit.
